Atlantic Ocean (Aug 12, 2007)

As I am posting this, it is raining outside as in a typical Summer shower. With lightning and thunders. The only problem is that I am in the northern hemisphere, is the middle of winter and it is 37 F (3 C) degrees outside. This is the second time it happens this week. Is this normal?

In the photo there is Jenny, a greek friend taking photos of whales, on a boating trip in the Boston Harbour. It was summer, a hot seasonal day. Not like the unseasonal thunderstorm tonight.

Plum Island, MA (March 24, 2007)

Very cold March day, at Plum Island. Still sunny when we left the city, by the time we arrived at the beach parking lot the sun was all but gone behind an uniform cover of clouds. The thing at Plum island is that in winter they close most of the parking lots, so you have to walk for a good 30 minutes to reach the sea shore. So when we got there it was much colder than when we started, and very windy. Good light for portraits, though... the right amount to avoid strong shadows but still provide some depth to the landscape.

When we went back to the car it was snowing...

The sea below, water and sand. The sea above, cirrus in the sky. The log, cruising the Ocean like the white whale. Standing on its back, like Crusoe on his island. Corto Maltese in search of an adventure. Watching the horizon where the two seas met... waiting to jump. And fly.
