More Andean Horses

Another photo of wild horses in Venezuela. This was shot last year on the road from Mérida to Caracas, while crossing the Andes. It was a cold morning in which the mountains were enshrouded by the clouds (the road passes as high as 16,000ft = 4,000m). At one turn we saw these horses and we stopped to photograph them. They didn’t mind me approaching and kept grazing, all but one horse that kept his eyes fixed on me all the time.

Venezuela is a country with a wide variety of climates. Just a few hours later down the road, once in the lowland plains, the temperature become suddenly hot, (above 40 degrees Celsius = 104 F, while it was freezing on the Andes).

We will leave at the end of next week for a 20 days new trip to Venezuela (I will try to keep updated the blog from there).
