A wonderful editorial photo, for many reasons. Your subject’s form is well distinguished from the sea of darker background figures. And you’re right; he doesn’t look at all like the stereotypical protester--neither a student nor a left-wing radical--just a concerned citizen. Looking at this makes me sad, as well it should.
Apart from an agreeably incongruous subject, technically you have
achieved a well balanced B & W shot with good whites and deep blacks. There is also a timelessness about this image - reminds me of the works of Cartier Bresson in a more modern setting
Sometimes I get the feeling that I`ve seen a photo before...It`s like I know what it is about. I think some themes have to be repeated. Unfortunately. Because of mans stupidity. Then it is important to document. Again and again.
