This is one of the most beautiful photographs I have seen in a while. I guess I am missing the mountains also. Thanks for sharing this fantastic hot.
wow.. most of your photos are so beautiful. love your work! you inspire me
I agree. stunning image! the light on the rock looks unreal!
Thanks for the nice comments. The light in fact was quite peculiar. Due to the summer heat there was a lot of haze, which was filtering the strong sun in the background (giving the blue tint of scattered light), and creating hard shadows. I calculated the exposure to get the rock right, which of course blown a little the background. In the end some Photoshop was necessary to correct the balance between the dark and bright areas (nothing that a good printer can do in the darkroom, but much easier to do on a computer...). This is in part responsible for the unreal look of the rock.
This shot makes me question where you are in relation to the environment you’re in. Are you cold? - it is magnificent - what are you standing on? So much more than the photo before which was distant. This is personal and really good.

Col du Pas, Italy (Jul 1, 2004) Have you ever thought that all the roads are connected together? "The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began". Yes it is one very long road, made by all the individual roads connected together.
