Beinette, CN, Italy (Nov 2, 2007)

Piedmont means “at the feet of the mountains”, and as this photo shows, it is a well deserved name. I am still in Italy in visit of my parents, sister and nieces. The weather has been exceptionally good, and even though there has been some snow just before we arrived here, we are having very bright sunny days. We will be here until Wednesday, and then we will fly back to the US. These last few days I have done some hiking, and photos of the hike (the foliage here is surprisingly good). This reminds me of mountain views from the prairie here in Colorado. I like the color contrast and the way the town becomes the visual dividing line between the plains and the mountains.
