Boston, MA (Aug 12, 2007)

I commented some time ago to Dawn that in the short visit she did in Boston she got many more beautiful photos of the city than I did in 10 years living here. It is true, taking pictures of buildings is usually not my forte. One thing that throws me off is not knowing how to deal with the geometric distorsions of the wide angle lenses. My other weak point is how to frame large building, which inevitably don’t fit in the frame: where should I cut? The roof or the first floor? I don’t have much instinct for this.

Different story is if the buildings are far away, and the photo becomes a landscape: this was taken last Sunday from the whale watching boat, while we were heading back towards the city.
