Zuhe light on the Andes

Still in the middle of a very busy period, with not much time for photography. Also in the middle of a re-organization of my old photographic archive, re-discovering a lot of photos a few years old that have never been processed the way they deserve. All this, of course, is not very conducive to posting new photos on this blog.

Here it is a new post, however. From a trip in Venezuela in December 2004. Approaching Mérida from Caracas one has to pass over a branch of the Andes that turns east from Colombia. These mountains are quite high (about 15,000 ft the highest, the Pico Bolivar), and usually their valleys are covered by clouds. That day I was lucky, however, and I managed to get a few shots of the fields below, just illuminated by the rays of the Sun, the “Zuhe” God according to the local indigenous populations.
