Revere Beach, MA (May 19, 2007)

If I remember right that was one of the last time we got some serious rain in Massachusetts (it was May 2007, but it could easily be May 1807). It rained for a week or so, and then Summer started. With it we got months without rain, except for a few thunderstorms. According to NOAA this was the 3rd driest August on record.

I like to watch the ocean when it is rainy and foggy. The moisture in the air brings closer the horizon, and at the same time enhances the sense of distance. The scenery is layered by the mist until the sky and the sea merge in an ethereal grey. Concealing the obvious, opening up the imagination.
