Done in Vienna, I am now in vacation in northern Italy. The conference was very interesting and productive, and the people I met there are really nice, so I had an enjoyable time. Tomorrow it is the national holiday of “ferragosto”, which is mid-summer, and this is a typical time for festivals and fairs. Mondoví, a little town on the southern rim of the Alps, has its local artesanal production fair. It is a nice town with a late medieval narrow roads climbing the hill overlooking the modern city below. During the fair the street level basements and the entrance of the ancient houses are open to the public. This dark alley ending in an internal courtyard attracted my attention for the contrast between the cold blue sky light in the courtyard, and the warm yellow tungsten light in the alley. Shot with a 1/10 exposure, ISO 1600 (digital equivalent, I have a D100), hand held.
