This is another photo taken during my recent visit to Paris. Differently from
this other one taken during the same trip, this photo has less manipulation, apart from the toning and some contrast adjustment, but strives to the same visual effect. Again, it is not a literal representation of the city, but rather an attempt to show the agelessness of a place I find every time I am there. Despite the drive that France has toward modernism (think of the buildings at “La Defense”, or the Centre Pompidou, or the glass cathedral of the Institute de Monde Arabe along the same river) Paris manages to retain its magic atmosphere of eternal city where you can spend interminable hours walking along on cobble stone streets, looking at people that walk around without the maniacal purposefulness of New Yorker, and watching the seagulls that are looking at you in case you have some food to spare.
