Jannette lake is one of the innumerable lakes in the
Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, between Minnesota and Ontario (Canada). I spent there a few days last spring, hiking and driving in the wilderness area while Mayli was attending a meeting of her
MINOS collaboration, in the nearby
Ely (the “far detector” of her neutrino experiment is in the nearby
Soudan underground iron mine). The weather was not very good for canooing (which is what people do there), but I still made a lot of pictures of the lakes and rivers which are posted in
this gallery.
