Perhaps Jim and the crew went back in time and violated the prime directive? This reminds me of when I was a kid and went to see all these Eric von Daniken movies like Chariots of the Gods, wherein he asked rivetting questions like, Who set up the statues that brew over Easter Island. He showed all sorts of rock etchings like this that looked like depictions of visits from ancient astronauts.
Anyway, very cool photo.
Yeah, it definitely has that crop circle/ancient-alien-visitor aura to it. Interesting shot and in spite of our mild winter so far, I could use a little dose of real summer myself.
I think I saw that episode of Star Trek. I also remember the Eric von Daniken books -- my Dad had them. I can remember reading them and thinking, “What a load of horse hockey!”
But, it IS interesting to speculate what the original artists had in mind when they created their cave drawings and petroglyphs. Perhaps they’re merely symbols to express ideas or actions. After all, what do the letters r-u-n actually have to do with running, other than our own perception of the relationship of the symbols of the letters to the action?
I’ll bet it feels good to be back in the winter season...
I read those EVD books too, and believed every word... Now, I don`t know. I find it fascinating, though.
Perhaps the answer is really uncomplicated....
Nice composition and somewhat muted colors and lighting.
Certainly a interesting piece!
Well, now you don’t have to go out in the cold. You have all these archives photos to keep you busy!
This is a cool shot... I love the actual inherent graininess!
Seems like a magic place. Reminds me of the Nasca symbols in Peru.
