Sounds like a wonderful place. I like your account of how you came across this stone in the sand after 1gig of trying to capture all the large-scale beauty around. there’s so much beauty also in the small and simple.
My vote is for a dragon’s egg. This is a beautiful image -- besides the obvious composition and colors, I particularly like the soft flowing lines of the sand.
You could have fooled me to think it was a photo you brought home from work.It could have been a moon, a planet, or something else you saw through that telescope. But no... You just pointed your lens down, and photographed an ordinary dragon`s egg...
You did a good job, though!
I like the ripple effect on the sand and how the light catches it. The dragon’s egg......well, my grandson thinks it might be a dinosaur egg instead. And of course being his gramma I would have to think maybe he’s right.
Mmm, I thought about that...
maybe dragons are dinosaurs that outlived their time?
looks like it’s underwater. i like the simplicity of this photo.
btw, i’ve changed my domain. can’t get the old one back
Followed a link from Wanda’s comments and found... a dragon’s egg! Great texture and color!
you’re right; one better look up, look down and all around before putting the camera away. This image’s novelty is in the texture of the sand but your imagination tops that!
I like to think it is a dragon egg ... so incredibly beautiful set adrift in the sand’s waves ...
This is so beautiful, with the textures and subtle color and patterns!
Many times I have filled a card with images, only to discover that the final shot is the real keeper - this image has such sublime simplicity. I daresay my favorite aspect is that the water is invisible except for the transmissive waves produced by the light.
