The eel cove, HI (Nov 6, 2005)
When I was a kid I remember reading the Ian Fleming books about James Bond thrown into the sea to be eaten by the ferocious barracudas. Well these are barracudas, and they are not ferocious at all. We saw quite a few of them in our dives off Kona, and they are in fact quite cool. A school of them was hovering around while we were diving, moving as a single body. At some point two smaller black fishes headed their way, and they just opened in a big circle, letting them pass through. Then they recomposed, and headed their way, oblivious of us making bubbles around...

So many shades of blue and silver -- this is very beautiful. Underwater photography fascinates me, but my life is already too full.
This is a great image - it really is another world down there. Fantastic blue.

You can really feel the movement of the fish in this image. Beautiful tones of blue. Refreshing.
That’s a great blue and the pattern that the fish make is fascinating. It has an elemental quality. I’ve got to learn scuba.
This is a very interesting photo. The endless blue and the shimy silver in this picture is really great to look at. The two black fish also added an interesting contrast to this photo.
