Beautiful portrait...Nice calm background too...Just one question: How did you manage to avoid that ugly shadow that tend to appear close to the eyes when the model wear a hat ? A reflector ? Not flash ???
Massimo - definitely a cute portrait! Great playful look in her eyes and just the hint of a smile on her face.
Very nice portrait and the expression just perfectly watches the whole presentation (or vice versa) but like alfred said how did you get the lighting so perfect?
It was an overcast day and the only light available was diffused by the clouds and the sand. The B&W was done by using mainly the red channel, which further reduced the remaining shadows.
Lovely portrait, and a wonderful placement of the hat. It really accentuates her beautiful eyes.
Cool, soft portrait. The hat makes it as well as the gentle expression on her face. Your bw work has its own appeal with the soft tones. Off to try the red channel.
There seems to be an unusual “drop shadow”-like effect around her hat, especially the top right side. Other than that the monochromatic look works well.
I also like favouring the red channel with my b/w work though usually it leads to more contrasty results
i really enjoy this portrait, the softness mirroring the soft smile and gentle look in the eyes - a beautiful photo of a beautiful girl!
Thats a nice portrait Massimo. Often a hat casts an unsightly shadow on the face but the lighting in this has been well managed. Perhaps the stormclouds were acting as a huge diffuser? (I see you have mentioned this now I read the comments)
I like how the image is so soft, yet I can still see the woven detail in the hat. Beautiful.
