Me encanta la composición, el burro parece casi real y como si ya hubiese pasado por el shooting.
I read about a photographer who used to have an assistant who shot “candid photos” while he did the “real work.”
The clients used to pick out a few of his shots to be enlarged, and a bunch of the assistants photos to put in an album to show their friends and family. I don`t know who`s the better photographer, but I have a photo of my wife that was taken in a photoboot a few years ago. That photo is more important to me than many “real” photographs we have. I think your photo of the bridesmaids is really funny. The donkey and the photographer is the key elements. Exelent! The girl to the right looks like she thinks “ Hello - can we get some attention here ????. NOW!”
Agreed with Alfred. Candid wedding shots are some of our favorites as well - our professional ones didn’t turn out well, but we anticipated that and made sure to invite some good amateur friends to photograph the weekend!
Great picture and great eye for the irony of the scene!
Alfred’s comments are so true - and the jack ass - my husband said he remembers seeing it - he thinks it belonged to Jackson. Hope this is no indication of the kind of many the bride is marrying.
Some get the donkey, some don’t...such is life. Lots of interesting stuff going on in this photo, with the donkey, the brides maids, the other photographer. An interesting perspective--behind the scenes--of this wedding.
My wife and I didn’t get the donkey either, and our honeymoon was camping. I think I prefer it that way to all of the fancy stuff. Great photo, I really like the balance.
Very funny juxtaposition.
We managed a honeymoon six months later. I had an observing run in Mauna Kea (Hawaii), so my wife managed to get a flight when I was finished, using free miles, and we spent 10 days in Maui (it was off season, so it was cheap enough for two grad students to afford). Hopefully we will repeat this autumn (I have a conference in Kona, Big Island), which would be welcomed since we didn’t go anywhere this summer.
Kauai is my favorite spot - love it there and we usually go every February. I even got married on the north shore of Oahu. Simplest wedding - just the two of us.
You’re going to the Big Island because of the fabulous star watching?
I have been a few times to one of the big observatories at Mauna Kea (the NASA InfraRed Telescope Facility), and of course the sky there is unparalleled in the world for its very low humidity and stability. This trip, however, is not connected to observations, but just to go to the conference in Kona. The conference is about “Protostars and Planets” and is convened periodically in different locations to discuss the current status of the field. This time it happens to be in Big Island, which is certainly an excellent choice!
Interesting contrast between the donkey and the ladies.. somehow they ‘dress’ in the same colors.
