Resurfacing

Crane beach, MA (Jun 4, 2005)

I have been on a deadline, and lately my posts have been rather sparse. Time to resurface a little, like the skeleton of the dragon boat at Crane beach, consumed by time, sand and salted water. An ancient rope is tying them to the ground. Maybe to keep them safe... maybe to keep them from sailing away.

Massimo, great lines, very nice composition, subtle color. This shot quietly evokes the essential shoreline environment.

I like the close crop, the composition and the return of an old favorite. I counted the ribs and even though the anatomy of dragons is not completely clear I can confirm these bones seem consistent with the common european dragon although Crane beach is long way from home!
[The species Draco magnificens should not be confused with their lesser cousins Pseudodraconis (the wyvern) or Ophidio draconis (the drake)]

I love beach shots...especially when old wood and mosses are involved. There is this distinct feel about them. I love the colors and the ambiance of them. Thank you for making me smile this morning.

I love the weathered look of the wood, indeed, a skeleton’s ribs sticking up out the sand. Lovely shot!

Great lines and composition. The texture on the wood seems so soft and velvety -- I almost reached my hand out to the monitor to feel it.
