Wonderful expressions on their faces. I’m really enjoying your style of B&W portraits -- your soft, glowy feeling is very pleasing.
I love the family portrai, everyone looks so happy.
Talking of mills reminds me of the stories my mother used to tell me about her life, as a young woman, working at the mills in Dundee, Scotland.
Lovely composition and great expressions. You got the “decisive moment.” My brother used to live in North Andover (he’s in Boston now) and I visited Lowell once when I was staying with him. It’s an interesting place with a fascinating history.
Bravo! Wonderful portrait, I love the way the young girl is playing with mom’s hair.
Excellent and fun capture with beautiful tones in this shot. i also enjoyed reading albout lowell ma. my husband is from haverhill, which as i recall, is practically around the corner from lowell.
Super family shot that really captures the moment.

Great expressions are the essence of great portraits. This is very engaging.
Wonderful family portrait you have taken of your friends (the soft light is perfect). Great story, too. And how sad it is that after all of the hard work and sacrifice by these early textile has now all but left this country. Try finding a shirt that was made in the USA...nearly impossible. In fact, I think the last shirt factory in New England closed this past year. I find this to be one of the most disheartening trends in this country.
really warm family portrait! everyone looks so happy, and the soft lighting complements their expressions.
