One kiss

Today this infinite winter finally gave us a break. At least it didn’t rain and we actually saw some rays of sun. It was still cold, but manageable while under the sun. I went to visit some friends that are leaving Cambridge for New Mexico. They are a young couple from New Zealand that came here for their Ph.D. She had finished her Ph.D. at M.I.T. and had accepted a postdoctoral position at Los Alamos national lab (she is an atomic physicist). He is an astrophysicist working on his Ph.D. at Harvard. They have a cute 3 years old, and she is pregnant of twins (she found out yesterday that this time will be twins). I went down to M.I.T. and spent some time with them.

One of the good things of living in the Boston area is that you can go to many places without having to use the car. Since it was this nice sunny day I went there with the “T” (this is how bostonians call the underground system). On my way back the weather was too nice to get again underground, so I started walking towards the river. In the end I made it all the way home, walking, and making photos of people and buildings, which is something quite unusual for me (street photography is definitely my weak point). Near Harvard Square I found a lot of people (somehow when there is a crowd I am less shy of photographing strangers). There was some sort of fair, with stages where musical groups had played during the day, and stands where local people were selling their hand-made stuff. These two mimes were there. Frozen in time, in an endless kiss.
