Certainly a lot more moody and even foreboding when compared to the original. That makes it all the more stunning though I think.
I much prefer this one to the sunny version. This for me, evokes a feeling of total quietness, contentment, and peacefullness. A place and time to reflect on the days journey and be in awe of the greater and more powerful forces surrounding us. Beautiful.
I also prefer the overcasted one over the sunny although I like the previous point of view better. anyway they are both great images (as usual)
This misty clouds above and below really frame those peaks wonderfully, and the secondary frame of the trees on the bottom is great too (you could maybe even burn those in till completely black.
Beautiful shot! Sunny weather makes for nice pictures, but cloudy days in the mountains have such a deeper, more intense feeling.
