At the irsk of repeating myself, I really love your entire “Geoabstract” series and how you processed the images! It is very original.
The curvy lines feel like topographic or contour lines -- perhaps terraces? Where was the picture taken??
Hi Anne. The photo was taken somewhere in the US midwest. I was flying from Boston to Salt Lake city when I noticed these patterns outside the window. I think I was about midway in my trip. Not sure which state it would be... it was pretty flat though.
I spent an hour yesterday discussing with a friend about what the curvy lines can be. He was also thinking that may be terraces. There is the strange fact that some of these levels disappear suddenly when they cross a road (which in this case would have a pretty steep slope on one side), but I think you are right, the terrace hypothesis is the one that makes more sense.
Excellent!
I used to fly the East West route every couple of weeks and my favorite part was watching the wild patterns unfolding below. Only remembered to photograph it a couple of times. Add Comment
