Paris, France (Feb 1, 2005)
Paris is enchanting even in a cold winter morning. At the beginning of February I went to Paris for a meeting. Flights from US tend to arrive very early in the morning, as they cross the ocean during the night. Since the meeting was starting the following day, I had the whole day free to walk around the city. Despite being tired (you cannot really sleep very well in coach class) I went to the river, until I got too cold (it was a freezing day) and sat in a cafe in front of Notre Dame to drink a hot chocolate and read. Yes, I like Paris, if I could chose that would be the city where I want to live.

This photo is ‘picture perfect’. It reminds me of an old postcard. What a beautiful scene, and the tone only adds to its ‘old feel’. I would love to be sitting at a table and enjoying this view, would you be able to fully absorb it all? I don’t think so.
That is why I like photography. Sometimes reality flows at a pace too fast, and a photograph allows to rethink the lost details at ones own pace.

This is very pretty; the tones are great. I like how you’ve included the sidewalk and the person walking toward us; it emphasizes the depth of the image. I am impressed by all the pedestrians and lack of cars.

Very nostalgic and atmospheric shot of the most wonderful city. I fell in love with Paris and lived there for three years in the early 80’s. It is so comforting that scenes like this haven’t changed in centuries.
Well done Massimo. Another great image and theres nothing I can add to the above comments except to say the light on the cathedral and water contrast well with the shadows. This inspires me to visit Paris.
