This is so beautiful. I don’t know how you do it, but your landscapes always resemble classic paintings to me.
Wonderful to catch the light so dramatically hitting the Alps. This photo brings to mind those relief maps or globes we used to have in school that you could run your fingers over and get a feel for the topography of the land. Your brief notes on the cepheids are interesting...do you ever hook your camera body to a telescope? Would love to see images of the astrological things you describe here. Enjoy your visit with your family.
Fantastic image. the more I look at it the more I like it. The ridge of the mountain and the contrast in light are excellent. Did you shoot this from a window seat or did you move around the plane?
