One of your best Massimo. Print it and blow it up - as big as possible.
Good to have you back
Yes, I agree with Charles, I would love to see this full scale. Breathtaking.
This is marvellous, Massimo. I was at this same beach earlier in the year and you’ve presented it in a spectacular way. Wonderful idea to use a long exposure at night for this scene. I just love its simplicity.
I will try to print it. The full frame photo is a 6Mpix (3000x2000) image (directly from my Nikon D100) and I should be able to enlarge it quite a lot without loosing quality (I have tried once with a 12x18 inches enlargements and the result was quite good).
Very beautiful image. I’m anxious to try some long exposures at the ocean at night. I also saw the seals at La Jolla when Chiaroscuro and I were out there in the fall, but wasn’t satisfied with any of my photos. I’m looking forward to seeing yours.
I’d be interested to hear the name of the restaurant you mentioned. I know there are good restaurants in San Diego, but Chiaroscuro & I had surprisingly bad luck trying to find them.
I hope Jennifer (a friend of mine that was there with us) remembers the name of the restaurant, because it was really good. She usually checks the blog so I hope she can write the name down when she will be back to New England. In the week I spent there I tried several restaurants, and they were usually not very good (the one around the hotel conference in fact were quite bad). I also tried some mexican restaurant but I wasn’t satisfied at all: I also heard that there are good ones, but maybe I just found the one for tourists...
Welcome back Massimo. I agree it’s a stunning image. what I love about it is that glossy surface as if this picture was painted on glass.
what a great shot you got there!!! i was just there earlier last year and its beautiful there. what a lovely shot!
Fantastic image Massimo. It oozes atmosphere. well done on the exposure.
I don’t know what I can say that hasn’t been written yet. It simply is beautiful.
beautiful shot, the lone figure the moody atmosphere, great stuff.
I’ve been mesmerized by this shot for about five minutes. You have captured a moment that is on the cusp of being too dark...but therein lies its power. That person looks like the last human alive at the last moment on Earth. No, better yet, it looks like the first person alive at the birth of the Earth. In any case, it’s an incredible shot. Outstanding exposure.
Massimo, I knew even from the lcd screen that this one was gorgeous...I only wish I was the woman standing on the rocks....it was a gorgeous night, you caught it perfectly, so glad we went up there...the restaurant was called Cafe Pacifica, it is at 2414 San Diego Avenue in Old Town...ciao,
Jennifer
what can I say that hasn’t already been said? Its just so absolutely stunning and that blue is full of beauty ...
Beautiful! The light and colors are gorgeous. I like the contrast between the smooth water and the rocks. very nice shot.
the person in the photo really gives it that sense of scale
